Welcome Letter from the Rector
We are a loving community of believers in Jesus Christ, following the rich heritage of the worldwide Anglican Communion. We believe our purpose is to uplift people and remind them of God's immense love. Whether you’ve just come across our page while browsing the internet or have lived in the Parkesburg area for many years, you are warmly welcomed here. Please join us; we would love to have you become part of our community of prayer.
At the heart of our community is the understanding that we serve the God of Love. Through Jesus of Nazareth, we embrace the four-fold law of love: Love God, Love Neighbor, Love Enemy, and Love Each Other. This profound understanding — that God loves you without exception or condition — guides us to respect the dignity of every human being. We are on a journey to learn how to live out our faith in today's world, and we believe that our questions are of utmost importance. Through our conversations and relationships, we discover God and the truth God reveals. We understand our message to be a refreshing presence in a chaotic world.
At Ascension, we are committed to lifting people and helping them express their faith and trust in God. Our worship is a response to Jesus' directive to remember God’s teachings. We aim for our services to be welcoming, inclusive, and responsive to contemporary issues.
We are more than just a building at 2nd and West in Parkesburg; we are a community of people who are the Body of Christ in this place. We strive to be the hands, feet, and senses of Christ in our world today.
I am Steve Lindsay, the Rector (Pastor) of this parish Church. I would love to meet you in person, hear your story, and walk alongside you on your spiritual journey. Please join us for worship this Sunday at 8:00 or 10:30 AM, or feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions or need a listening ear. I look forward to meeting you.
God bless you and bring peace to you and your home, now and always.
