St. Mary's Guild

St. Mary's Guild was established in 1891  when twelve women met at the home of Mrs. A. J. Williams and organized the group to assist the church with financial aid.

About

All women of the parish are members of this fellowship.  Encouraging closer Christian fellowship and promoting a spirit of social intercourse among the church members are among the objectives of the Guild.  A fund was started in the early 1930’s by Mary R.H. Beale and those monies that were later entrusted to the Church Foundation provide the Guild with a source of funds to be used to carry on with the objectives of the Guild.  Members of the Guild spearhead outreach activities or organize social events at the church along with doing some of the work needed for the church.  Energy from our women supports the church’s work, our own fellowship and the advancement of God’s kingdom.

In recent years due to the demands of today, the group has operated on an informal basis but still performs its' basic duty which is helping Ascension and the greater community.
