Church School
During the 10:15 a.m. worship service, Ascension offers Sunday School classes for children of all ages.

The parish mission statement, the Episcopal three-legged stool idea and the bible readings for each week are used as guidelines for our Sunday School sessions. Our children explore how as Christians we want to treat each person with dignity and see God in them. Scripture, tradition and reason make up the three legs of the stool that we use to balance our discussions on how to approach life’s challenges and choices, and to talk about plans and intentions with the children. Periodically, the children are upstairs for the service and act as acolytes and readers which allows them to be more a part of the parish family, to be a part of the worship, and to learn more about the Episcopal denomination. The children put their faith in action by being part of food drives, gift giving, and other outreach events.

Special Events
In addition to classes, the Church School also continues to have fellowship with bowling events, roller skating, a harvest outing, and the annual Easter Egg Hunt.
Fall & Christmas
As a group the children prepare and serve an Apple Fest each fall as well as provide food for several other Sunday Coffee hours. Each year they present a pageant during the family service on Christmas Eve.
Eucharist
The entire church school participates in the Eucharist with their families. At the end of the school year, the children participate in Recognition Sunday honoring the students who attended as well as the staff.
Weekly Offertory
The children make weekly offertory donations during their opening service. This is followed by age appropriate classes and crafts within a curriculum that follows the church calendar.

Adult Education
Adult education class is held most Sundays prior to our 10:30AM service, from 9:00AM to 10:00AM. Topics range from biblical perspectives on current events to gospel passages discussed in that day’s service.
