Parkesburg Churches Community Outreach (PCCO)
7 Churches/8 Denominations/1 Mission: The Parkesburg area family of churches, in conjunction with various county and state agencies, seeks to serve the basic human needs of our community which include, but are not limited to, food, clothing, furniture, utilities, and to do so in the name of Christ our Savior.
Funding for PCCO is provided by donations from the member churches, organizations, businesses and individuals. -

The Octorara Area Food Cupboard
Non-perishable food items are always needed. As well as toiletries: soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, dish & laundry soaps, etc.
They are always accepting and in need of reusable grocery bags. Items may be left at The Church of the Ascension.

Thanksgiving Meals
With the PCCO collaboration of churches, we donate food, help cook, and help to deliver Thanksgiving Day meals to hundreds of people in the community.

Back Pack Drive
Each year, along with the PCCO, our members host a drive for school supplies and backpacks for local school children. The Point hosts a community event in the late summer where the backpacks are given to students from the Octorara school district.

Christmas Gifts Collection
Each year, along with the PCCO, our members donate Christmas gifts for local families. Gifts and wrapping paper are provided to parents so they can prepare the gifts for their children on Christmas day. This community support breaks down financial barriers so that families can celebrate Christmas that includes gifts under the tree.
Barbara C Harris Scholarship
The Barbara C. Harris Scholarship Program aims to promote equity in education by providing mentorship and financial assistance for college to young women of color in the Octorara School District. Community service including family responsibilities, work, etc. will be considered along with financial need and family circumstances. To learn more, contact us at office@ascensionparkesburg.org.
Established in 2003, The Parkesburg Point Youth Center (THE POINT) originated as a collaborative endeavor among churches, community leaders, businesses, law enforcement, educators, and the judicial system. Its purpose was to address the challenges faced by the most vulnerable youth in Western Chester County.
Bridge of Hope
We partner with Bridge of Hope to support local families. Bridge of Hope’s vision is to see communities where no family is homeless. Driven by our vision, our mission is to engage Christian faith communities in ending family homelessness through neighboring relationships that demonstrate Christ’s love.

We believe faith is best lived out in service to others. As a proud member of the Parkesburg Churches Community Outreach (PCCO), we join seven other local churches to provide food, clothing, and stability to our neighbors in Christ’s name. Whether you are dropping off non-perishables for the Food Cupboard at the church or scheduling a donation for our student-led Furniture Ministry online, your generosity makes a tangible difference in our community.
