  • Steven Lindsay

    Steven Lindsay is currently the Rector of the Church of the Ascension in Parkesburg, PA. He was born on October 3, 1955, as the youngest son of William A. Lindsay III and Geraldine C. Lindsay. Steven is married to Mary Chris Lindsay, and they have three grown children: Jessica, Steven Jr., and Peter, as well as four grandchildren. The Lindsays reside in Parkesburg.

    Steve has been active in the Diocese of Pennsylvania throughout his life, attending various parishes, including St. Paul’s in Overbrook, St. George’s in Ardmore, Transfiguration in West Chester, St. Asaph’s in Bala Cynwyd, and Christ Church in Media. Additionally, he participates in St. Peter’s By-the-Sea in Cape May Point, NJ, where he has served as a trustee and held other roles over the years.

    He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Math/Computer Science from St. Andrews College. He also holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Villanova University, an MBA from Eastern University, and a Master of Divinity with an Anglican certificate from the United Lutheran Seminary. Steve spent 45 years working as an Information Technology professional.

    He was ordained a deacon in the Episcopal Church on September 18, 2021, at The Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral, and as a priest on March 12, 2022, at The Church of the Ascension in Parkesburg, by Bishop Daniel G.P. Gutiérrez. Steve is passionate about serving those around him, leading others in prayer, growing the church, and celebrating their common heritage.

  • Melissa Kennedy

    Organist & Music Director

    Melissa Kennedy came to Ascension as a child in 1962. In addition to being our organist and music director, she also teaches piano lessons. She is married to Jay and lives in Oxford, Pennsylvania. They have four children and four grandchildren. 

  • Adrienne Walburn

    ​Coordinator of Communication

    Adrienne has been a parishioner of Ascension for over 20 years, previously attending St. John's Compass. She has been a member of the St. Mary's Guild, teacher of the Church School, as well as being a youth acolyte many years ago. She began her position as Coordinator of Communication in April of 2018. Some of her job duties include organizing & sending out the weekly informational update, managing the website & Facebook pages, preparing service bulletins, among other tasks. Adrienne continues to attend Ascension with her husband, Evan and three young daughters, Naomi, Winnie, & Callie. They live in the nearby town of Gap, Pennsylvania.
