How to Create the Beloved Community In our Baptismal Covenant (Prayer Book page 304), we vow to "respect the dignity of every human being" and to "seek and serve Christ, loving our neighbor as ourselves." These vows are not a one-time pledge, but a daily evaluation we should do with our actions, looking to see how the ways we interact with those around us both helps to create as well as hinders the formation of the Beloved Community that Jesus sought to build here on earth.
Beloved Community will meet twice this summer with the next meeting being July 21st at 5 PM on Zoom. Please note the time change. The group will record the conversations. Those interested in listening to the discussion can request the recording. The group is going to take some time studying gun violence in our society. There will be discussions about what we can do to improve the situation. The following articles will inform the discussion during the July Meeting: This is an article from Lancaster General with some statistics. The hope of the group is that there will be ongoing sharing of readings and discussion during the month.
