PCCO Christmas Gift Collection
Ascension will be helping the Parkesburg Community Churches Organization provide gifts for children in the are who are in need. This year Church of the Ascension will be responsible for Christmas gifts for 15 children within 4 families in our community. Parish folks who sign up may donate money toward the gifts or they may shop for the child that they choose, approximately $50 to $60 per child. It will also be possible for a church member to buy a single gift for a child who will also receive other gifts. Gifts are due December 11th. All gifts should be marked with the child’s name, child’s number & family number. Please also include a roll of wrapping paper per child and a roll of tape per family.

How to Create the Beloved Community
In our Baptismal Covenant (Prayer Book page 304), we vow to "respect the dignity of every human being" and to "seek and serve Christ, loving our neighbor as ourselves." These vows are not a one-time pledge, but a daily evaluation we should do with our actions, looking to see how the ways we interact with those around us both helps to create as well as hinders the formation of the Beloved Community that Jesus sought to build here on earth.
Beloved Community will meet twice this summer with the next meeting TBD on Zoom. The group will record the conversations. Those interested in listening to the discussion can request the recording.
